Conjunctions

Conjunction dalam bahasa Indonesia berarti konjungsi atau kata sambung.Artinya kata yang menghubungkan satu kata dengan kata lainya,satu kalimat dengan kalimat lainnya atau satu kelompok kalimat dengan kalimat lainnya.Berikut ini adalah macam-macam kata sambung:

A.Clause of time

1.As(selama)

-As  I were studying in America ,I felt good

2.As long as (selama)

-I shall be glad as long as you love me

3.As soon as(sesegera)

-I must leave the house as soon as possible

4.after(setelah)

-after I finished my study,I would go to England

5.Before(sebelum)

-I wil not go before you go first

6.Now that(selama)

-I want to send the letter now that my father  still lives there

7.Once(sekali)

-Once I make up my mind ,I never change it

8.since(selama)

-since I stayed in Indonesia ,I have never been in bali yet

9.till(hingga)

-I shall wait you till you grow up

10.until(sampai / hingga)

-I enttend to move the house until my daughter finish her study

11.when(ketika)

-when I was taking a rest,the telephone rang

12.whenever(kapanpun)

-I shall help you whenever you need me

B .clause  of  place

1.where(dimana)

-he lives where I stay with him

2.wherever(dimanapun)

-he sat down wherever he found empty seat

3.everywhere(dimanapun)

-he goes everywhere  his darling goes

C.clause of manner

1.As(sebagai)

- he usually play as a good man

2.As if(seolah-olah)

- he speaks  as if he is president

3.as though(seolah olah)

-he sing a song as though he is a singer

D.clause of contrast

1.although(walaupun)

- istill have no money although I worked hard

2.eventhough(walaupun)

-eventhough he hates me ,he lend me the book

3.though(walaupun)

-though he is rich,he never give me the money

4.however(bagaimanapun)

- I will not punish him ,however he is a child

5.whatever(apaupun)

-whatever he has done,he is your father

6.no matter(tak masalah)

-no matter he said ,I still love her

E.clause of cause

1.as(karena)

-as he was sick,he went to the doctor

2.as long as(selama)

-I will not attend the meeting as long as my condition is still bad

3.because(karena)

-I cannot go out because my mother is sick

4.since(karena)

-since I have no money ,I cannot go out

5.whereas(karena)

-whereas  I come late ,my father punished me

6.On the ground that(karena)

-his fsther punished him on the ground that he came late

F.clause of result

1.so…..that(sehingga)

-he always studied hard so that he pass in exam

2.so+adj+ that(sehingga)

-he is so bad that many girls dislike him

3.so +adv+that(sehingga)

-he studies so hard that many students like him

4.so(hingga)

-I always come late so my teacher punish me

G.clause of purpose

1.in the hope that(dengan harapan)

- I always study hard in the hope that I pass in exam

2.in other that(supaya)

-I always keep my money in other that I can go America

3.in other to(supaya)

-I have to work hard in other to get much money

4.so that(supaya)

-I have to marry with him  so that I become a mother
